Business Fraud Risk Insights - US SUBSCRIBERS ONLY

The Business Fraud Risk Insights API Provides risk indicators and scores, helping detect and prevent business fraud risks during online processes, to help a customer make an overall assessment of fraud risk. Data Coverage: US

  • Submit (POST) - allows users to is for initiating a request to find a matching company for the customer input and have a fraud risk assessment based on D&B data and also customer provided data. This is a POST call, please refer here for Technical Specifications.
  • Get Report (GET) - allows users to retrieve a completed fraud risk assessment result or the latest status of an inquiry submitted earlier. This is a GET call, please refer here for Technical Specifications.

Company Report: birstd and comprh

D&B's Business Information Report (BIR) and Comprehensive Report are fully rendered information products (Text/PDF/HTML) for determining a company's profitability, stability, viability, and payment performance to help evaluate risk both on new or existing business relationships. PDF reports are not available for all markets, including Canada, so for best global coverage, please request HTML format. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

Consumer Risk Reports - UK SUBSCRIBERS ONLY

Consumer information provided as Credit Reports (overview and detail on an individual person) and Bureau Summary Block (summarized key attributes on an individual person). Available in two depths of data dependent on individual customers' contractual entitlement. First is Public data level covering info such as identity, court and bankruptcy info and secondly SHARE level which in addition contains info an payment behaviours/financial standing. Contact Search

The Contact Search API allows the user to find details of individuals working for companies using a variety of criteria. Monitoring is not supported for Contact information. The response includes details of all individuals matching the search criteria including email address and telephone number where available.

  • Standard view (POST) - allows users to find Contacts, including direct dial telephone and/or email addresses using a variety of criteria. This is a POST call, please refer here for Technical Specifications.
  • Premium view (POST) - same as Standard View but includes additional data such as salary and and bonus data where available. This request should contain "view":"premium" for getting premium response including salary and bonus information for the requested individual. This is a POST call, please refer here for Technical Specifications.
  • Contact ID/Email (GET) - allows users to find specific Contacts based on an email address or a Contact ID. This is a GET call, please refer here for Technical Specifications.

Custom Analytics (US and Canadian DUNS only)

Provides the output from Custom built Predictive modeling methods customized by customer-specific risk definitions and available data that support risk mitigation, early intervention, resource allocation and prioritization, or fraud identification. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

D&B DUNS Company Screening Intelligence

DUNS based service which will increment an Add-on RUM counter for each unique DUNS added. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

D&B Restricted Party Screening Intelligence

Transactional service based on post Inquiry for D&B RPSi Data Block contracts screening against Dun & Bradstreet's proprietary screening service. Note that RDC and Dow Jones versions will not be available via data blocks. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

ESG Insights

Analytically-derived and AI-informed environmental, social and governance (ESG) rankings that describe the resiliency of companies by measuring the potential risk of incurring reputational, regulatory or operational damages that could impact financial performance. This request can be combined in the same call with a request for entitled standard data blocks.

  • Level3 - Includes overall ESG ranking, environmental, social and governance and sub-theme rankings plus peer group comparisons.
    Current coverage is for DUNS in the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and Sweden.
The individual Environmental, Social and Governance Rankings are built up from 13 themes which themselves consist of 31 topics as set out below:

Global Business Ranking

The Global Business Ranking provides a simple, globally consistent way to compare companies across countries on their relative risk of business failure with loss to creditors. It builds on the power of the country specific Failure Score and harnesses the complete insight of the Dun & Bradstreet Data Cloud to provide companies with a global portfolio a transparent understanding of business failure risk in their portfolio over time. This request can be combined in the same call with a request for entitled standard data blocks.

  • Level1 - Predictive and descriptive components of the Global Business Ranking. Predictive component ranks a business relative to all businesses in the D&B Universe and the descriptive component provide a basic predictive insight.

Global Financials

The Global Financials add-on provides a view of global financial statements that allows clients to more easily perform decisioning and analysis using key elements from the balance sheet, profit & loss and business ratios that are standardized across 120 countries, eliminating the need for clients to understand and code for varying reporting standards across markets. This request can be combined in the same call with a request for entitled standard data blocks.

  • Level1 - Latest 5 years fiscal statements.
  • Level2 - Up to 20 years fiscal statements.

We advise that this Add-On is monitored via its own registration and not combined with other blocks due to the different coverage and it having a separate Records Under Management counter.

Network Intelligence Resolved Role Player

A basic entity centric Add-on which will, for any role player in one D-U-N-S, expose all businesses (D-U-N-S) to which they are associated. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

Network Intelligence Role Player Search

This operation allows the customer to specify search criteria and get a matching list of role players within businesses (D-U-N-S). The information returned can then be used to request the Network Intelligence Source of Wealth or Resolved Role Player blocks. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

Network Intelligence Source of Wealth

For a role player in one D-U-N-S, it exposes all businesses (D-U-N-S) they are associated with along with financial statement and firmographic information on each D-U-N-S. This allows the end user to gain insight into the role player's source of wealth. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

Research

D&B offers research services to customers needing review and/or validation of D&B Data and Analytics. Examples of Research requests include the identification of data quality issues, missing commercial entities, or validation of existing information. Research API allows customers to request, track, and receive results of researches for businesses across all countries. Submitted requests are sent to Dun & Bradstreet or partner offices around the world to research and verify the information. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

  • Mini Research - Mini Research focuses on the assignment of D-U-N-S Numbers to Business Entities validating basic firmographic details. Mini Research allows a customer to receive a new D-U-N-S without a researcher reviewing all possible data points for an entity, thus reducing response time of the request.
  • Targeted Research - Targeted Research focuses on the validation and update of selected data elements specified by the customer. Targeted Research allows customers to receive updates on one or more specified data elements without a researcher reviewing all possible data points for an entity. Thus, reducing response time of the request.
  • Full Research - Full Research focus on D-U-N-S Assignment and/or the validation of all information associated with the organization.

Shipping Insight Details

Providing additional detailed insight of the shipping transaction, the Shipping Add-On will enable the user to narrow details regarding the shipment including disembarkment location, destination, cargo packaging, weight of the cargo, classification of dangerous goods where applicable among other details of the shipment. Small Business Financial Exchange Insight (SBFE)

The D&B Direct for Finance - SBFE solution is a customizable solution that can provide more than 700 data fields based on the Small Business Financial Exchange SBFE Data™ and Dun & Bradstreet Analytics. This solution is only available to SBFE Members™ and Exchange Participants.

D&B Direct for Finance - SBFE solution has a configurable search service that provides the user the ability to search for businesses based on the presence of SBFE. Dun & Bradstreet has released a new and improved process to maximize the match and hit rate to SBFE Data, and provide the best candidate or candidate list to users who are entitled to the D&B Direct for Finance SBFE solution. This feature utilizes new logic when users submit a Lookup request, to now search both DNB and SBFE data and present a single combined candidate list. This SBFE Match request will retrieve both standard D-U-N-S, D-U-N-S with SBFE Data, and SBFE match candidates (AGN), and present them in the same response indicating which D-U-N-S have SBFE data along with non-D-U-N-S SBFE match candidates (AGN). By default, match candidates will be sorted in descending order by Confidence Code. Additionally, filter criteria provide the user with flexibility in the sort order of the candidates by presence of SBFE Date in each candidate to maximize hit rate to SBFE Data. Customers wishing to use this new service will need to use the new SBFE Match services that includes the new filters and be entitled to use SBFE data.

Small Business Risk Insight (SBRI)

SBRI access is safe-guarded by rules of engagement with the participating financial institution and trade exchange customers - access is only granted to those US customers who provide payment performance data to D&B and sign the SBRI Order & Terms Agreement.

SBRI also has restrictions of use - It can only be used in support of new credit applications and existing customers. SBRI cannot be used to prospect for new customers and is recognized as Finance and Risk Solutions revenue.

SME Lending Intelligence (UK DUNS Only)

SME Lending Intelligence API is for retrieving results of Detailed/Analysis packet(72 months SME banking data), Summary/Insight packet for the submitted Duns Number. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

SME Score (UK DUNS Only)

SME Score API is for retrieving results of Risk Predictors packet for the submitted Duns Number. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

Supply Chain Risk Index

Supply Chain Risk Index for Government summarizes risks found in the supply chain discovery of prime contractors which includes business failure, foreign influence, confluence, and potential fraudulent businesses. A "20/60/20" rule is used to establish the higher risk (+3), moderate risk (+2), and lower risk (+1) thresholds for each of the Supply Chain Risk benchmarks. It is beneficial to both government and commercial entities who do business with the government as the look to understand the risk within their own supply chain. This request can be combined in the same call with a request for entitled standard data blocks.

  • Level1 - Score summarizes risks found in the supply chain discovery including business failure, foreign influence, confluence, and potential fraudulent businesses.

Side Blocks

Company Financials

Financial statement information on both private and public companies around the world. The summary contains up to 36 individually named elements but this data is, for the most part, as per the statements provided by each country and include the local nuances specific to some countries.

  • Third Party Financials - All Financial Statements sourced from third-party solution providers, currently Morningstar.

Company Information

Provides basic data about a company, including name and address, industry/business activity type, size, and country/region identification numbers.

  • Advanced Geoposition - More precise latitude and longitude for pinpointing where a business is located. This side block is available for the Public sector only.

Hierarchies & Connections Level 1

Identifies entities associated with a given company in terms of legal ownership, franchises and other connection types. Often referred to as a "family tree". A customer must "buy in" at Level 1, but can then get any of the other options (referred to as side blocks) they require without having to get all of them. The Side Block responses are going to contain only the data associated with those offerings and in most cases cannot be combined with other enrichment data.

  • Full Family Tree - All of the business entities to which a given Dun & Bradstreet D-U-N-S Number is related based on greater than 50% legal ownership. This block level represents the Full Family Tree data associated with the inquired D-U-N-S. A request for this uses the full familyTree endpoint and data from Hierarchies & Connections Level 1 is not included in the response. This request cannot be combined in the same call with a request for other entitled data blocks and this block is available for monitoring.
  • Upward Family Tree - Information on the family tree members from the inquiry up each hierarchy level of the branch of the family tree to the Global Ultimate record. A request for this uses the upward familyTree endpoint and data from Hierarchies & Connections Level 1 is not included in the response. This request cannot be combined in the same call with a request for other entitled data blocks.
  • Alternative Linkage - Identifies operational ultimate records for records that are franchises, dealers, networks, co-operatives, etc. This request can be combined in the same call with a request for other entitled standard data blocks.

Ownership Insights

Information on the people and companies who are either principals in a business or who own shares of a given business entity and/or who ultimately benefit from the result of that business' operations.

  • Control & Ownership - Designed to support Control and Ownership 'prongs' when establishing who is ultimately benefiting from or controlling a business to enable regulatory Compliance. The data block will enable you to establish the beneficial owners and the percentage they own on a target business, as well as establish control groups from UBO registry data and any principals that are connected to either the target business or indirect corporate owners.
    The List (cmpbol) provides a list off all the beneficiaries and any additional principal relationships with the target business. The Structure (cmpbos) allows one to visualize the relationships.
    This side block needs to be purchased with the Ownership Insights Level 1 block. It is not available for sales and marketing purposes and cannot be monitored.
    Note: This functionality will be available from 8th November 2021.

Non-Standard Data Blocks

Company Entity Resolution

Entity Resolution is the process by which we assign a Dun & Bradstreet D-U-N-S® Number to client data, and enables client data to be compared with standardized records held in the Dun & Bradstreet Data Cloud. This is often referred to as "matching". Entity Resolution is undertaken for the purposes of: identifying duplicates within a client's database; searching for a specific entity; or validating a D-U-N-S Number. This capability delivers only match results. Company Information Level 1 must be licensed in conjunction with this capability.

Multiple calls are available via the 1 level:

  • Cleanse Match - Identity Resolution returns the best matches for given criteria using Dun & Bradstreet proprietary algorithms. This capability delivers only match results. Please refer here for Technical Specifications. This block is available for data file delivery.
  • Criteria Search - Locates possible entities from the Dun & Bradstreet Data Cloud using specified criteria when there is not enough known data for a Match, allowing a maximum of 1000 candidates. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.
  • Typeahead Search - Enables users to quickly find company records without having to type the entire company information in the search request. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.
  • Best Match - For each input record, identifies the single most likely match for the given criteria. The response content for each record, if a match is found, is the same as for transactional Company Entity Resolution API (25k max). Please refer here for Technical Specifications.
  • High Volume Match - For each input record, identifies the single most likely match. The response content for each record, if a match is found, is the same as for transactional Company Entity Resolution API (1M max). Please refer here for Technical Specifications.
  • Extended Match (Multi) - For each input record, identifies the single most likely match for the given criteria and then appends a data product to the response. This feature is design to handle up to 25,000 records per request. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.
  • Data (Multi) - For each input D-U-N-S, requested data product will be provided in the response. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.
  • Extended Match - For each input record, identifies the single most likely match for the given criteria and then appends a data product to the response. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

Company News

Published news items associated with a particular business. This block represents standard news and media content for the inquired company. A request for this uses the News and Media endpoint. This request cannot be combined in the same call with a request for other entitled data blocks. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

Industry Profile

Industry information including topics such as business challenges, trends, and opportunities and executive insights. Often used to help prepare for sales conversations; includes sample questions. Profiles are not specific to a given entity/company, rather to the industry as a whole, and are licensed individually. This block represents detailed information on the primary industry of the inquired company. A request for this uses the Industry Profile endpoint. This request cannot be combined in the same call with a request for other entitled data blocks. Please refer here for Technical Specifications.

Ownership Insights

Information on the people and companies who are either principals in a business or who own shares of a given business entity and/or who ultimately benefit from the result of that business' operations.

  • Level 2 - Data on the person(s) behind a business who will ultimately gain from the success of the business. This data is primarily used for compliance purposes and cannot be purchased for sales or marketing purposes. This block level represents the Ultimate Beneficial Ownership Structure and List offerings on the Ultimate Beneficial Ownership API endpoint and data from Ownership Insight Level 1 is not included in the response. This request cannot be combined in the same call with a request for other entitled data blocks and this block is available for monitoring.
    Note: cmpbos is not available for monitoring.

Principals & Contacts

Information about company employees and principals, including: names, titles, and - where permitted - contact information. Data within the Principals and Contacts block is split between Principals data and Contact data. Contact data, representing primarily mid- and lower-level management and employees of a company is available where there are no country level restrictions on gathering of this data. The Contact data request cannot be made in the same call with any other entitled data blocks and is not monitorable.

  • Search by Duns - Contacts Data through this endpoint is not available for Monitoring. This request cannot be combined in the same call with a request for other entitled data blocks.
