D&B Direct+ Feature Introduction

The D&B Direct+ provides the ability to:

  • Identify entities with whom you do business or want to do business.
  • Enrich your information about entities using the extensive D&B data.
  • Research allows customers to place research requests on subject businesses.
  • Monitor changes to entities and content to keep your information up-to-date.

Identify

Identify enables you to find entities using any of the following capabilities:

  • Identity Resolution
  • Search
  • Web Visitor Identification
  • Multi-Process

Identity Resolution

Using Identity Resolution (IDR), you can identify entities using a variety of properties. The D&B match engine evaluates the provided details against those in the candidate files and uses the proprietary algorithm to identify the best match(es).

The following Identity Resolution features are available:

  • Cleanse Match returns multiple candidates based on the request criteria.
  • Cleanse and Standardize returns the standardized version of the input parameters.
  • Match and Append returns the best match plus the requested data product contents.

Search

The following Search search features are available:

  • Company Criteria Search enables you to specify a set of criteria. Criteria Search provides over 20 filters that enable you to find entities. You can search by categories such as name, location, registration numbers, revenue, and industry codes.
  • Company Typeahead Search enables you to find entities who have a name that starts with the provided text. This feature is useful when users are filling out a form and you’d like an auto-complete feature that enables them to select a name and provides you with a D-U-N-S Number at the same time.
  • Company List Search is similar to Criteria Search, but allows you to retrieve a much longer list of entities.
  • Contact Criteria Search enables you to search for individuals by a set of criteria.
  • Find Competitors enables you to find up to 50 competitors for a specified D-U-N-S Number.

Web Visitor Identification

Web Visitor Identification enables you to identify the company for a visitor to your web site using an IP address, domain, or email.

Multi-Process

Multi-Process provides the ability to batch process request. The features available are:

  • Match returns the single best candidate based on the request criteria.
  • Match and Append returns the best match plus the requested data product contents.
  • High-Volume Match returns the single best candidate based on the request criteria. Provides processing for millions of records.

Enrich

Enrich enables you to retrieve data on a specific entity or category. Enrich features include:

  • Standard Data Blocks
  • Add-Ons/Non-Standard Data Blocks
  • Company Report
  • Restricted Party Screening
  • Consolidated Assessment Report (CAR)

Standard Data Blocks

Enables you to retrieve data on a specific entity or category. In a single online API request, multiple data blocks can be pulled. Monitoring and Batch are supported for all elements of standard data blocks.

Add-Ons/Non-Standard Data Blocks

Each Add-Ons/Non-Standard Data Blocks to be consumed using its own specific online API request. Monitoring and Batch are supported for some of non-standard data blocks.

Company Report

D&B's Business Information Report (birstd) and Comprehensive Report (comprh) are fully rendered information products (Text/PDF/HTML) for determining a company's profitability, stability, viability, and payment performance to help evaluate risk both on new or existing business relationships.

Restricted Party Screening

Enables you to embed screening workflow into your process, manage and maintain false positive remediation and adjudication. It will helps you to react to material change based on your own policies.

Consolidated Assessment Report (CAR)

Consolidated Assessment Report (CAR) Investigation is a standardized service that allows compliance customers to request, track, and receive results of a business investigation.

Research

D&B offers research services to customers needing review and/or validation of D&B Data and Analytics. Examples of Research requests include the identification of data quality issues, missing commercial entities, or validation of existing information. Research API allows customers to request, track, and receive results of researches for businesses across all countries.

Monitor

The Monitoring feature enables you to keep your MDM system or data warehouse up-to-date and to make decisions on the latest available data.

D&B data API provides access to numerous products, each with a set of attributes. Monitoring enables you to receive notifications when any of those attribute values change for any Subjects in the registration. Monitoring APIs enable you to manage your registrations. Once a registration is created, you will start to receive notifications about changes to the entity data.
